Short-Term Disability (STD)
Short-Term Disability insurance can replace a portion of your regular income while you aren’t working due to childbirth, illness or injury. After all, your bills won’t stop just because you need to recover. Benefits begin at the end of the elimination period and continue while you are disabled up to a maximum benefit duration. This benefit is paid entirely by Virgin Voyages.

- Sickness Elimination Period – You must be out of work for 7 days due to an illness before you can collect disability benefits. You can begin collecting benefits on day 8.
- Accident Elimination Period – You must be out of work for 0 days due to an accidental injury before you can collect disability benefits. You can begin collecting benefits on the first day.
- Pays 60% of your pre-disability weekly earnings to a maximum of $2,000 per week
- Duration of 13 weeks
- Proof of your disability will be required from your physician
Long-Term Disability (LTD)

VOLUNTARY PLAN – PAID BY EMPLOYEE

- Provides coverage if you are unable to work for an extended period of time as a result of a medical condition, illness or an accidental injury
- Benefits begin after the end of your short-term disability or a period of 90 days of disability, whichever is greater
- Pays 60% of your pre-disability monthly earnings to a maximum amount of $15,000 per month
- Maximum coverage period is up to age 65 or Social Security Normal Retirement Age, whichever is later
Evidence of Insurability Process
