ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

You are eligible to enroll in the Plan if you are a regular full-time crew member who is scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week. New crew members are eligible to participate in benefits the first of the month following your date of hire.

ELIGIBLE DEPENDENTS

You may also elect medical, dental, vision and voluntary dependent life/AD&D coverage for your eligible dependents. An eligible Dependent is considered to be your:

  • Legal spouse or registered domestic partner
  • Natural child, step-child, or adopted child, of the crew member or eligible domestic partner, or child for whom the crew member or eligible domestic partner is the legal guardian, legally placed with the crew member or eligible domestic partner for adoption, or supported pursuant to a court order imposed on the crew member or eligible domestic partner up to age 26 regardless of student status or marital status, financial dependence on parents, residency with parents, or eligible for coverage under another health plan.
  • However, State of Florida allows dependent coverage up to age 30 providing they meet the state’s qualifying criteria (see Florida Department of Labor website for details)

Note: Your dependents may not enroll in the plan unless you are also enrolled. If you and your spouse are both covered under the company’s benefit plan, you may each be enrolled as a participant or be covered as a dependent of the other person, but not both.

2025 CREW MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS

Virgin Voyages does allow you to add spouses and domestic partners to your benefits, however, if your spouse/domestic partner’s employer offers medical coverage and you choose to provide him/her coverage under a Virgin Voyages plan, you will be responsible for the bi weekly cost associated with having them on the plan. The surcharge is deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis. The surcharge does not apply to dental or vision plans, but only medical.

Smoking Surcharge – There will be an additional $40 per pay period fee charged to Crew members who smoke. You will be asked to certify this information during your enrollment and benefit changes.

EXPERIENCING A MAJOR LIFE EVENT?

Making Changes During the Year
The choices you make during Open Enrollment remain in effect for the entire year (January 1 – December 31). In order to make changes to your healthcare elections during the year, you must have a qualified family status change. Qualified family status changes allow you to add or drop dependents or change your level of coverage.

Important: If you do not notify your People Team within 31 days of the qualifying event, you will need to wait until the next open enrollment period.

A qualified change in status is an event that affects eligibility for you and/or your dependents under the Virgin Voyages benefit program and can include any of the following events:

  • Your marriage;
  • Entering into a domestic partner relationship;
  • The birth, adoption, or legal guardianship of a child;
  • You and/or your covered dependents gain other benefits coverage;
  • You and/or your eligible dependents losing other benefits coverage;
  • Your legal separation or divorce;
  • Ending a domestic partner relationship;
  • Your dependent child losing eligibility for Virgin Voyages benefits coverage;
  • The death of a covered family member;
  • You move out of a medical or dental service area; or
  • A change in dependent care providers or fees

The change to your benefit election(s) must be consistent with your change in status.
